A group of children in colorful hats peer over a wooden frame decorated with Russian text and a jester figure, while a tall, white-costumed puppet with a pointed hat stands to the right; the children move slightly, looking around and reacting to something off-screen. The scene cuts to a close-up of a man with a voluminous red wig and beard, who stares with wide eyes.
