'Samurai Champloo' is the story of three strangers in the Tokugawa era, also known as the Edo Period, who together travel to Japan. Fate brings together these three people: the Mugen — skilled wandering swordsman and former pirate, Jin — imperturbable, stoic and the master of the ronin, and Fuu, a young and brave girl who dreams of finding a mysterious samurai smelling of sunflowers.

The Mugen — skilled wandering swordsman and former pirate
On the back, the Mugen is a sword that has a detailed hilt and cross protection. At the base of the sheath is a hidden dagger (tanto).
The Mugen name is a homophone with the Japanese word 'infinity'.
Jin - the cool, unflappable vagrant ronin.
Jin fights in samurai style kenjutsu, and studied most of his life at the famous school of the samurai. Jin wears glasses (which he doesn't actually need) — an infrequent accessory of the Edo era in Japan
He behaves in the traditional stoic manner of a samurai of the Tokugawa era. Using the traditional katana and wakizashi, which he wears in the traditional manner on the belt
Fuu is a young and brave girl who dreams of finding a mysterious samurai smelling of sunflowers.
