Update. Recoubs feeds and sources

Recoubs have long been a part of our platform, but for most coubers, they were just a number on the counter: it wasn't easy to view them all, leaving many interesting original versions and coubs unnoticed.

We've introduced recoubs feeds, allowing you to track the evolution of ideas and the creative community's reactions to a coub. Each recoub feed has its unique link that can be easily shared.  Now, the original coubs feature a direct link to the recoubs feed at the top of the dropdown recoubs list (appears on hovering over the counter) and is also present in the right column on the coub's page.  In the Recoub Feed, the original coub is always placed at the top, along with the channel information. Recoubs can be sorted as per your preferences, with their creators listed separately.

Recoubs feeds can also be used for hosting mobs, challenges and competitions. We are considering the idea of allowing the creator of the original coub to edit the title and description of the feed, as well as pinning the best coubs at the beginning or on a separate tab. Share your thoughts in the comments about this!  Please note that the recoub feed is created for the original coub, directly from which the recoub is made. For participants in contests and competitions, it's crucial to create recoubs directly from the original, so that all the entries are consolidated in one feed.

Some recoubs almost entirely replicate the original coubs, featuring no changes in the video sequence or audio track. This misuse of the recoub function—rather than resharing, for sharing a liked coub, using a repost is more effective. This way, the original creator gains more likes and views, while your subscribers still get to see the coub. Copying others' coubs through recoubs is primarily disrespectful to those creators who invested a lot of time in editing. Coubs considered as duplicates can be reported to our support team, but it's important to note that we do not consider videos found on the internet and uploaded to Coub without any alterations as such.

On the coub page, the list of sources is now displayed as cards below the Coub.  If the coub is created from multiple videos uploaded via a link, you can see all the links and create your own coubs from them.  On the recoub page, we'll display links to the original coubs, allowing you to navigate to the recoub feed of each.  And if it's a recoub merged with an external video, both types of cards will be shown.
