But why?

A white cartoon cat turns a red valve on a pipe, causing water to spray from a nearby pipe joint, then turns a larger valve on a red pipe, releasing a massive gush of water that floods the room and drowns the cat. The scene takes place in a dimly lit, damp basement with exposed pipes and a small window.
