The main subject is the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute in Venice, with a gondola moving across the water in front of it. The scene begins with a close-up of the basilica, then pulls back to reveal the full view of the building and the canal, where a gondola enters the frame from the left and glides across the water. The scene then cuts to an aerial view of the Colosseum in Rome at dusk, illuminated by artificial lights. The camera slowly zooms out, revealing more of the surrounding city and the Colosseum's structure.
