Armor

A man in a patterned tunic and glasses holds a shield and a gauntleted hand with a sword, then reacts as the sword is thrust into his shoulder, his face contorting in pain. The scene cuts to a medieval illuminated manuscript depicting a group of men carrying a covered bier through a landscape.
