forest sandpipers

A larger bird with a long, slender beak and mottled brown and orange plumage walks across a gravel surface, followed closely by a smaller, fluffier chick with similar markings. The adult bird moves forward in a steady, deliberate gait, while the chick walks in tight formation behind it, occasionally adjusting its position to maintain proximity.
