one story

A young man in a vest reads a book while seated, then raises his hand as if casting a spell, causing a large bird to fly away; the scene cuts to a close-up of a man with a stern expression, who remains still as a hand reaches toward him from the side. The setting is a dimly lit, wood-paneled room.
