SAKHALIN

A rusted, derelict ship floats in calm water, its decaying structure and open windows visible as the camera moves along its side. The scene shifts to a foggy lighthouse on a rocky outcrop, then to a weathered stone tower with birds perched on its ledges, followed by a dilapidated lighthouse complex on a rugged coastline, and finally a close-up of a stone monument with Japanese characters, all set against a backdrop of overcast skies and the sea.
