A fish swims in a tank behind a chain-link fence, then the scene shifts to a puddle reflecting bare tree branches and falling petals. The view changes to a girl with a sad expression in a classroom, surrounded by classmates, then to a boy and girl seen through a glass door. The sequence ends with two figures sitting in a field at night, launching paper airplanes into the sky as they fly through the dark.
