3 cats or 1?

A dog watches from the side as three cats walk down a wet residential street, with one cat in the middle of the road arching its back and moving forward while the other two walk along the curb. The scene takes place on a narrow asphalt road with a concrete sidewalk, bordered by houses and potted plants.
