Diligent

A black woodpecker with a red crown repeatedly pecks at a large, irregular hole in the side of a tree trunk, its head moving rapidly in and out of the cavity. The bird remains vertically oriented on the tree, which is situated in a snowy urban environment with buildings and parked cars visible in the background.
