“The source of darkness…”

A dark, elongated, and textured object, resembling a large eel or a thick, wet rope, emerges from the exhaust pipe of a silver Ford Focus parked on a cracked concrete sidewalk. The object slowly extends and elongates downward, dragging along the pavement, while the car remains stationary.
