Squirrel

A pileated woodpecker with a red crest and black body clings to the side of a weathered, broken tree trunk, repeatedly striking the wood with its beak in a steady, rhythmic motion. The bird remains in place on the rough bark, its head moving back and forth as it pecks, against a background of bare tree branches and a pale sky.
