A person in a deep trench, wearing a striped shirt and white gloves, maneuvers a metal ladder, first holding it horizontally and then lowering it into the trench. Another person, visible only by their foot in a blue boot and white shoe, stands on wooden planks above the trench, observing the process. The scene takes place in a narrow, excavated trench with exposed soil walls.
