Boss battles

A spider-like creature with a green face and red eyes stands on the right side of a battle screen, its dialogue box changing to taunt the player characters. The four player characters—Cody, Paula, Chris, and Rock—remain in their status boxes at the bottom of the screen, their HP and PP values unchanged, as the background shifts from a wavy purple and red pattern to a swirling red vortex. The scene cuts to black, then displays a glitch effect with horizontal lines and a blank text box, before returning to the battle screen where Cody's turn begins with the text "Cody attacks! Giygas."
