A man in a white kayak on a body of water is startled as a large whale surfaces nearby, its tail fluke rising out of the water and then slapping down, sending a large splash toward the kayak. The man, wearing a red life vest and black cap, reacts by pulling his paddle back and moving the kayak away from the whale. The scene takes place on a calm, overcast day with a distant shoreline and a large ship visible in the background.
