A firefighter in a uniform labeled "F.O.N.Y. BATT CHIEF PFEIFER" stands with his back to the camera, looking through a window at a city street where people are running in panic. The scene shifts to a wide shot of the New York City skyline with the Twin Towers, followed by a view of the South Tower engulfed in smoke, then a massive cloud of dust and debris erupting from the North Tower. The sequence ends with people covered in ash walking through a debris-strewn street.
