A Miracle

A man in a tattered robe lies face down on the ground in front of a crowd of people dressed in ancient Middle Eastern garments, who stand on a raised earthen platform. The crowd, initially observing, reacts with alarm and gestures of shock as one of their members is lowered into a deep pit, then raises their hands in a collective gesture of distress.
