Each plate is grinded manually: rough spots are being scraped with a special knife.

The painted plates are firstly dipped into the hot paraffin, and then into the glaze.
The cobalt oxide solution is actually gray. It turns cobalt blue only after firing.
The artisan painter accurately draws the pattern with a squirrel brush.
